Drop a pebble

Drop a pebble in the water: just a splash, and it is gone; But there's half-a-hundred ripples C ircling on and on and on, Spreading, spreading from the center, flowing on out to the sea. And there is no way of telling where the end is going to be. Drop a pebble in the water: in a minute you forget, But there's little waves a-flowing, and there's ripples circling yet, And those little waves a-flowing to a great big wave have grown; You've disturbed a mighty river just by dropping in a stone. Drop an unkind word, or careless: in a minute it is gone; But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on. They keep spreading, spreading, spreading from the center as they go, And there is no way to sto

The Echo of Life

A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" He receives the answer: "Who are you?" Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" He receives the answer: "Coward!" He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?" The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers: "I admire you!" Again the man screams: "You are a champion!" The voice answers: "You are a champion!" The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our action

Reaching Your Dream Takes Courage

Courage is admitting that you're afraid and facing that fear directly. It's being strong enough to ask for help and humble enough to accept it. Courage is standing up for what you believe in without worrying about the opinions of others. It's following your own heart, living your own life, and settling for nothing less than the best for yourself. Courage is daring to take a first step, a big leap, or a different path. It's attempting to do something that no one has done before and all others thought impossible. Courage is keeping heart in the face of disappointment and looking at defeat not as an end but as a new beginning. It's believing that things will ultimately get better even as they get worse. Courage is being responsible for your own actions and admitting your own mistakes without placing blame on others. It's relying not on others for your success, but on your own skills and efforts. Courage is refusing to quit even when you're in

great quotes

Anyone can make u smile, anyone can make u cry, but it takes a special person to make u smile, with tears in your eyes. There are two basic motivating forces: FEAR & LOVE--When we fear..we pull back from life--When we love..we are open to life & live with passion and excitement Sometimes I love being left out. Being left out means not being involved in drama. Forgiveness is power. But, it's not power over someone else. It's a power within yourself. If they can't accept you at your worst, they don't deserve you at your best! There r 2 days in the year nothing can be done. 1 is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do G O S S I P..Generally Obnoxious Self Seeking Ignorant people who feed the need to speak badly about others to feel better about themselves...Janine Nagy Mcphail When you involve yourself in something that has nothing to do with you, make sure you know the facts. More importantly, that you ha

Procrastination

Procrastination ~Found while cleaning out my files, I don't even remember saving it. Instead of sitting in a hidden file, it shall sit here in my face to serve its purpose when needed. Sometimes there is so much to do that we can't do it all, so we just get overwhelmed and we don't do anything. The secret to conquering your procrastination lies in five little steps I call STING. S - Select one thing to do. T - Time yourself for one hour, use a timer if that's what it takes.(Many times the job will only take 30 minutes, or they'll find they're not done with the task when the hour is up but they've made giant headway and can see the light at the end of the tunnel and live with less guilt.) I - Ignore everything else.(Most procrastinators say, I'm going to get this done but first I'll check my e-mail, then...) N - No breaks. G - Give yourself a reward (such as watching TV guilt free).

We Came

“We did not come here to be common… We did not travel this great distance to give up, give in and lie down. We came here to wake up and be joyful; to stand up and be powerful; to open up our hearts, our minds and our eyes as we expand our knowledge and our perception. You are extraordinary and you are powerful beyond belief!” —Heather K.

On this day, God wants you to know...

On this day, God wants you to know... ... that no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. You have to agree that you are less and that someone else is more to feel inferior. If you don't agree, you can not possibly feel inferior. You might know something less, or you might be able to do something less, but you ARE unique and hence simply incomparable. Do not buy into being reduced to an object of comparison.
In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. ~Marcel Proust

the truth is

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. ~ M. Scott Peck ~

new start

From this moment forward, I will be true to myself. I will no longer allow myself to be burdened with past regrets. I let go of all relationships, habits and thought patterns that no longer serve me in my strive to reach my highest potential.

Disappointment and Frustration

Many of us, whether we are conscious of it or not, create much of the unhappiness we experience. Our disappointments are the result of our own negative or limited thoughts about ourselves and our world. What are some of those limiting thoughts, those subconscious beliefs, which keep us from experiencing joy and wholeness? One of those beliefs is that we cannot be fulfilled unless we are loved and accepted by those who are the victims of our past experiences, that we are too old or too set in our ways to change. Still another false idea is, "It's a catastrophe if things don't go my way!" Then, too, there's the self-defeating attitude that to love is to lose, so "I'd better prepare for the worst to happen because it will." Two more irrational beliefs are, "I have no control over my happiness and I want life to be easy and without hassles; therefore, I'll avoid discomfort or any new commitments." TODAY I will see each disappointment in my

No Strings Attached

No Strings Attached I've nothing else to offer, so, to you, it's love I'll send. It's nothing that I borrowed and it's nothing that I'd lend. It has no dollar value and it can't be overused. It isn't fragile, so it can't break, though often it's abused. I've given it to others, but each time it's unique. Its meaning's always different; it depends on what you seek. It's something you can store away, to feel when you're in need. But never is it on display, its beauty can't be seen. I'm giving it 'no strings attached,' no costly warranty. This love that I am sending has a lifetime guarantee. Author Unknown

Happy New Year....Happy New ME!

I have not made New Years Resolutions in the past, because I have never kept them in the past. I thought about what I want my year to look like and it isn't about being skinny or changing who I already am. I want to take my life and bump it up a notch. I am already just fine the way I am. I have a poster up at work that reads... Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best. Tim Duncan My main goal is the get in physical shape. I plan on doing every walking/running event I can to prepare myself for 1 or 2 triathlons a 1/2 marathon and a 3 day breast walk. I CAN DO IT!
